My name is Lisa and I am mother, runner and overall health fanatic, happiness junkie and the heart and soul behind Getting to Zen.
Getting to Zen is a community of passionate seekers who want to transform their lives from ordinary to extraordinary! I’m talking living it BIG! Finding inner peace! Living with passion and being FREE!
Who I am
As a 40+ passionate seeker, I love helping other seekers gain clarity about their goals and dreams through a process of self-discovery and go after them.
When you sign up to be part of the community, you can expect to receive super juicy articles on everything from making courageous changes in relationships or work, discovering–or rekindling–a sense of purpose, developing healthy habits of self-care, finding a new sense of inner peace and cultivating the confidence that you’re on the path that’s meant for you!.
If there is something you are looking for and are not sure whether or GTZ has it, feel free to send me an email. Seriously, there’s a lot of info on the site and it may be hiding in the vault.
I wasn’t always the person I am today. Life, running and the desire to nourish myself to get the best out of my mind and my body, have pushed me to grow physically and psychologically in ways I never would have imagined. overcame Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), survived a devastating hurricane, left a small island and moved to the United States mainland carrying nothing but the clothes on my back and two suitcases.
I created a career that was an extension of who I was and I ran a marathon, missing the Olympic Qualifying time by 1 minute 59 seconds.
What I have learned, is life is whatever you make it and I’ve chosen to make mine the best I can. Oh, and since turning 40, my quest to live my best life has intensified. Let’s just say my mortality stood up and smacked me a good one. I’m ready to be more present than I’ve ever been.
I want to feel love like I’ve never experienced before. I want to give the gifts I was meant to give. This is the time to make it happen and I want you to join me.
While I love to write about health, food, fitness, and personal growth, I am in no way a trained doctor, dietitian, or mental health expert. I simply write what I know from my own perspective and personal experience, which may or may not be right for you.
I am not a licensed professional, master or knower of the meaning of our existence or anything of that sort. I am student in the classroom of life sharing strategies, tips and perspectives on my journey of getting to zen.
